Only 3% of all Virginia type peanuts qualify to be a Southern Season Peanut. The Extra Large Peanuts that qualify are first water blanched and then blister fried to perfection.
These are simply higher quality peanuts than you get in supermarkets, shelled or un-shelled. They are large and unusually crunchy. Not over-salted. In my opinion, they are priced better than the equivalent \'name brand\' quantity. Give them a try!
